Pharmacovigilance

Pharmacovigilance

According to the WHO, pharmacovigilance is the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other medicine-related problems.
In simple and comprehensive terms, pharmacovigilance is the science of medicine safety.

Reporting an adverse reaction

Report adverse reactions and any situation related to the use of medicines (e.g. drug interactions, administration errors, lack of treatment efficacy, pregnancy, etc.).
By reporting adverse reactions, you make medicines safer and help healthcare professionals make more informed therapeutic decisions. Reporting also contributes to better tailoring of treatment and helps prevent other patients from experiencing the same effects in the future.

How to notify?

Whenever possible, the following information should be provided:

• Notifier Details
• Patient Details (initials, age and/or sex)
• Suspected medicine(s) (brand name and active substance, batch number, dosage)
• Description of the adverse reaction(s)
